Sasha's artistic work involves a multi-layered process of research and physical making, rooted in craft, psychology and sustainability. These lines of thought consistently feel the most urgent to her and she finds she is most useful when approaching from an ideological perspective. she begin with an open-ended research question, or with a material process that she wants to explore. The physical byproduct of her work involves visualizing the input she receives from the research. Her work takes the form of continuous experimentation. she flows from form to form, from material to immaterial, from narrative to abstract. Process takes a central role in the work, product is rarely the total outcome. Sasha works always by hand, by intuition and in community. She reduces the cognitive bias and create via unconscious mechanisms. She seeks to uncover that which exists within all of us, and is easily ignored. Sasha wants to unearth our shared internal chaos.
